Dr. Michael Hollifield

Dr. Hollifield is a native of Rabun County and a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine, Augusta. He served an internship at the University of Maryland Medical Center/VA Medical Center, Baltimore, and a residency at East Carolina University Medical Center, Greenville, NC. He served the last 27 years in the Northeast Georgia Health System’s Emergency Rooms practicing Emergency Medicine and for the last four years, teaching medical students and residents in his role as Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine for the Medical College of Georgia.

He now feels very blessed to see his life coming full circle with the decision to join Mountain Lakes Medical Center as the Chief of Staff and Chief Medical Officer, and is now looking forward to providing great care to the people of his home town.
